Sunset in Sorrento

Hi chums!

I'm know that I have already done several posts on Italy which is just because I am so obsessed with it and I enjoyed my trip so much. This is the final post in my Italy series and I wanted to end it with the amazing sunsets in Sorrento. We stayed here for 4 nights and it was so much fun to go to the beach everynight and watch the sun go down.

The beach near to where our hotel was, was reasonably small and therefore didn't attract tonnes of people which I loved because it meant it was really quiet and peaceful and it made me feel a lot more relaxed!

I felt so lucky that I got to spend four nights here and see four amazing sunsets because it was so beautiful!

We also had the best view from our hotel room as we were on the top floor and had this huge balcony which overlooked the sea.

I can't even describe how much I loved this trip and I definitely see myself going back sometime in the future. If you're thinking of going the Sorrento then I would say you have to go for it because it is amazing and there is so much to do (if you're prepared to drive around a bit to get to places).

I hope you have enjoyed my Italy posts because I have loved writing them.

Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend!

Off to the Island of Capri

Hi chums!

So I spent one of my 6 days in Italy on the amazing island of Capri and I had been looking forward to this trip for ages after seeing such amazing pictures of it all over the internet. Unfortunately the day we went was the worst day of our trip for weather. It was cold and wet all day which was such a shame but we still had a great time!

We left the shores of Sorrento in the morning and made our way over to Capri on the boat that runs regularly.

Once we got to the island we took a cable car up to the main part of the town and although it didn't feel like we went that far, we seemed to end up quite high up and the views were insane!

The town was really pretty and the buildings were so colourful, so I would have loved to just sit outside a cafe and people watch while sitting in the sun but (of course) we ended up running between shops to keep dry and keep out of the rain!

The weather, however, did not stop up from taking a 30 minute walk to Tiberius' Villa on the top of the island. The ruins of his home were really interesting to walk around.

After trying to make the most of the day, we ended up getting the ferry back a bit earlier because we were wet and cold! As you can see in the pictures below the clouds were so dark and were really low so that we couldn't see the tops of the cliffs which was a bit ominous!

I was so sad that we didn't have enough time to go back on another sunnier day but it's definitely a place on my list to visit again in the future because I feel like there is a lot of the island which we didn't have a chance to explore.

Ironically when we got back on the ferry there was the most beautiful sunset which was a happy end to the day!

I would recommend Capri but the majority of things to do were outside so if you can I would pick a good weather day for it! (Also sorry that the only thing I seem to have written about in this post is the weather - it's an English thing!)

A Day in the City: Rome

Hi chums!

I have been so excited about going to Rome for so long because the last time I went I was really young so I don't remember too much. To have the opportunity to go back was absolutely amazing! One of the things I was most excited about was obviously the Colosseum because it's so well-known and I'm a sucker for a monument!

The weather was so perfect on this day so I just couldn't put my camera down!

After taking too many photos to count and falling in love with the outside we decided it was time to head inside and it definitely didn't disappoint! It was absolutely massive and there were 2 different levels you could go to with the standard ticket which we had.

We were told that in Ancient Rome any animals used for the shows would be kept in these corridors down below the stage.

When we finally managed to pull ourselves away from the Colosseum we made our way to the Roman Forum.

We walked up a big hill and looked around some of the ruins including Augustus' house which was so exciting!

It was so hot whilst we were looking around - I loved it!

From the top of the hill there are some great photo op's for the Colosseum and also the Arc which stands next to it.

Once we had finished in the Roman Forum we realised how thirsty we were but, naturally, being in Italy water was not the done thing so we got some ice cream instead - yum!

We walked along to Piazza Navona with our ice creams in our bellies whilst the sun set (how Lizzie McGuire, I know!)

Below are a few snaps taken whilst walking around.

The only down side to our day in Rome is that there were glass walls blocking access to the Spanish Steps which was so sad but it was still the funnest day in Rome!

Thanks so much for reading this post!
