Exploring London: Chelsea and Belgravia

Hi chums!

You may (or may not) have seen my last post about a cafe called Peggy Porschens that I went to whilst I was in Belgravia in London. Well after we had drunk those amaaazing drinks we went to explore the area a bit more!

It is such a nice area there and feels so quiet and peaceful despite being in the middle of London. The houses had the same vibe as the mum's (Natasha Richardson) house in the Parent Trap which was super fab because that has to be one of the nicest London houses!

Once we'd picked our jaws off the floor after seeing the amazing houses, we walked to Sloane Square.

So we didn't actually do anything specific in Belgravia and Chelsea but we just had such a good time wandering around and chilling out!

The Cutest Cafe in London

Hi chums!

I went to London with my sister waaaay back in July (literally how is it almost September?!). This time we headed to Chelsea which is honestly such a nice part of London and is the perfect place to live if you have a few millions pound to spare!

We got the tube to Victoria and headed to Ebury Street. We didn't have to walk far before we saw the cutest little cafe called Peggy Porschen. It's literally impossible to miss because it's a pink building with an amazing flower arch.

It was so pretty I couldn't resist taking a polaroid!

We stopped off here to have a drink because it was super hot thank day. I got the Summer Berry Iced Tea which was delicious!

The cakes looked insanely good and I was so tempted but I didn't actually get one (this time... Make no mistake - I'll be back!)

The other thing I thought was really cute was the books they sell in the shop. They have all sorts of recipe books that look really good. I could have bought them all!

We really enjoyed our little stop-off here and I think we'll be going back as soon as we have the chance!

Thanks for reading this post!

A Summer Day in Brighton

Hi chums!

When I went to Brighton a few weeks ago with my sister, we ended up walking along North Laine where there was so much street art. We came across it by accident but actually ended up spending quite a bit of time there taking some snaps!

It was super fun so if you're heading to Brighton soon and are a cheeky underground street art fan, then I would recommend checking it out!

Brighton Beach Huts

Hi chums!

So I've seen lots of photos of the beach huts in Brighton, but the last two years I've been I haven't seen them. I was like how can I possibly miss them because there are loads?! But it turns out they're a little walk out from the main city/Brighton pier.

If you are driving then I would suggest putting in directions to Walsingham Road. If you're going from Brighton pier, just keep walking towards the old pier and sooner or later you'll hit the beach huts.

They are so colourful and so fun to take pictures of so I would definitely recommend going and checking them out!

Do we take too many photos?

Hi chums!

I have been thinking recently about the concept of taking too many photos. The question is – can you take too many photos and if so, how many is too many?

Nowadays photography is so popular. Who doesn’t feel the rush when you get some likes or your latest Instagram post?!

For me it’s things like Instagram which make photography even more fun. If I manage to take a good photo, nothing is more satisfying than getting a like and feeling like someone else thinks that what you’ve done is good too.

I’ve heard a lot about how social media ‘detracts from real life’. These comments are usually made by middle-aged to older people (no offence!) who have lived through a time when no such thing existed (shock horror!). But I’m not so sure whether social media is entirely to blame.

I’m sure we all remember birthday parties where you couldn’t blow your candles out before you had a picture taken, or going out for dinner on holiday and feeling absolutely starving but you weren’t allowed to eat until you got the waiter to take a photo of your entire family. And then of course, there’s the dreaded moment when you ask the poor waiter to take another one, this time with flash, only to get home and realise that the one without flash is so dark that you might as well have been in a cave. Or on the other hand, the flash makes everything so bright that your sunburnt face which you smothered with aftersun earlier is glowing brighter than the sun and contrasts dramatically with your glowing red eyes. Nevertheless, your parents assure you that ‘at least it’s a memory’ and consequently put it in the holiday photo album which will then be stored away.

My family, relaxed as we may be, often clash with the whole ‘too many photos’ scenario. We often end up spending ages in the same spot taking hundreds of photos from all different angles. Whereas my mum and I are in our element, I can see my dad getting tired and weary and dying to move on (and he’s probably more patient than most!)

So I guess what I’m attempting to write in this post, is if we should live in the moment and try to enjoy things as they come, or if it is nice to be able to get back from holiday and show your friends and family exactly where you’ve been and what you did?

Personally I wouldn’t and couldn’t dream of going anywhere without my camera. I love taking photos too much to not take any!

At the same time I try and strike a balance. I used to go to concerts and take as many photos as possible, but I realised that I ended up watching the concert through my camera screen. Now when I go I’ll take a few photos or maybe video a bit of my favourite song/s, but otherwise I try to enjoy it in the moment.

If you’re reading this I’d love to hear what you think so please leave a comment down below:

Do you think it’s better to capture the moment with a photo or live in it?

Sunday Style: Blue and Balloons

Hi chums!

I've already done a post on my birthday party but I haven't really talked much about what I wore, so this post is all about my dress and shoes so scroll down to find out where I got them!

I got my dress from an online shop called Chi Chi (click here for the link) and I absolutely fell in love with it - the colour, the length, the style!

It actually came with a belt but I thought it killed the look a bit so I decided to ditch it!

The dress was a pastel blue which was so perfect for my afternoon tea party. I also thought the neckline was so pretty but quite statement and I loved how there was layers of netting under the skirt part of the dress.

At first I was worried about whether it would be a bit over the top for the occasion but then I couldn't send the dress back because I loved it too much!

I spent ages looking for the right shoes to match the dress. I eventually found some in Debenhams (click here for the link). The matched my dress and were really delicate and pretty so I thought they completed the whole look!

I felt like a princess the whole day in this outfit so I hope you like it as much as I did!

Exploring London: Notting Hill

Hi chums!

Notting Hill is pretty much a blogger's dream - coloured houses, wrought iron gates, pretty flowers. I went to Notting Hill in July and couldn't stop snapping away on my camera!

In terms of things to do there, there isn't really anything unless you want a house and have a few million pounds to spare because (for anyone who doesn't know) Notting Hill is mainly a residential area in London where the houses are reeeeaally expensive!

We didn't spend too long there, but enjoyed wandering around the streets and seeing all the houses, so I thought I would share a few pictures!

To find out where I got my dress and heels see down below.

What I'm wearing:

Dress: Mango

Heels: LK Bennett - I bought them in a sample sale but here are some similar ones from Debenhams

As well as housing, there are also a few shops here and there that are kind of antique and vintage.

Thanks for checking out this post! Notting Hill was super fun so I would recommend if you love photography/cute places!
